Rivers Online is special effort being launched to invite other schools to participate in the sharing of information and resources in projects relating to the study of rivers.
There will be several stages to the project. In the first stage, we have prepared a digital
library of educational materials, possible lessons, and lesson plans available via the Internet to
all participants. Use the links below to see the materials that have been completed so far. In the second stage, teachers from multiple sites will arrange for the electronic exchange of
information from teacher to teacher and student to student working on projects in different
locations. For example, students might exchange different information about the nature of the river
system they are studying, the kinds of experiments they are going to conduct, or the projects they
will be doing. In the third stage, all of the participants will share the results of their projects by posting
appropriate parts, in electronic format. The Greater Columbus Free-Net and NPTN will be the hosts for
this information. The products could be in the form of text reports, HTML (World Wide Web) documents,
or Adobe Acrobat files that can be shared across the Internet.
If your school is interested in participating or you wish to send comments and
suggestions, please send a message to our administration..
