Aquatic Life

Formed by ice, Big Darby Creek was initially called Olentangy by Native Americans. The creek was later renamed in honor of a Native American. The Big Darby was home, at the time of initial Anglo-American settlement in the early 1800's, to over 100 species of fish and 40 species of bivalves ( shellfish).
